From case-based reasoning to traces-based reasoning

چکیده

CBR is an original AI paradigm based on the adaptation of solutions of past problems in order to solve new similar problems. Hence, a case is a problem with its solution and cases are stored in a case library. The reasoning process follows a cycle that facilitates ‘‘learning’’ from new solved cases. This approach can be also viewed as a lazy learning method when applied for task classification. CBR is applied for various tasks as design, planning, diagnosis, information retrieval, etc. The paper is the occasion to go a step further in reusing past unstructured experience, by considering traces of computer use as experience knowledge containers for situation based problem solving. # 2006 Elsevier Ltd. License Plate location Determination by Using Case-Based Reasoning

The license plate recognition system is part of the intelligent transportation system. In the intelligent transportation system, the vehicle image is used as the system input. The first step is to improve the image, after the edge detection, a series of morphological operations are performed to identify the plaque. The main purpose of this research was to increase the importance of plate re...

INTEGRATING CASE-BASED REASONING, KNOWLEDGE-BASED APPROACH AND TSP ALGORITHM FOR MINIMUM TOUR FINDING

Imagine you have traveled to an unfamiliar city. Before you start your daily tour around the city, you need to know a good route. In Network Theory (NT), this is the traveling salesman problem (TSP). A dynamic programming algorithm is often used for solving this problem. However, when the road network of the city is very complicated and dense, which is usually the case, it will take too long fo...

Improving Agent Performance for Multi-Resource Negotiation Using Learning Automata and Case-Based Reasoning

In electronic commerce markets, agents often should acquire multiple resources to fulfil a high-level task. In order to attain such resources they need to compete with each other. In multi-agent environments, in which competition is involved, negotiation would be an interaction between agents in order to reach an agreement on resource allocation and to be coordinated with each other. In recent ...

Trace-Based Reasoning — Modeling interaction traces for reasoning on experiences

This paper addresses Trace-Based Reasoning (TBR) by using Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) as a descriptive framework. TBR is a reasoning paradigm in which inferences are made on specific objects called traces. Traces are sequential records of events observed and stored during an interactive process. We report two contributions. First, we propose a review of the current researches related to TBR. The...

Universal Triple I Method for Fuzzy Reasoning and Fuzzy Controller

As a generalization of the triple I method, the universal triple Imethod is investigated from the viewpoints of both fuzzy reasoningand fuzzy controller. The universal triple I principle is putforward, which improves the previous triple I principle. Then, unified form of universal triple I method is established based onthe (0,1)-implication or R-implication. Moreover, the reversibilityproperty o...
